You’re Little Annie Adderall!

I’ve put off watching Community for some time now but I saw it in Target the other day and decided to go for it.  I love it! If you haven’t seen it yet you should definitely check it out. Community takes place at Greendale Community Collage and follows around a study group made up of lovable misfits.

Joel McHale plays Jeff Winger a selfish but lovable jerk who has to go back to collage after the law firm he was working at found out that his law degree was a fake.  He starts a fake Spanish study group to try and get in the pants of Britta Perry (played by Gillian Jacobs), a high school drop out who was to cool for school, who invites the extreme movie nerd Abed Nadir  who then invites (Danny Pudi), an ex high school quarterback, Troy Barnes(played by the amazing Donald Glover) who lost his scholarship due to a shoulder injury, Annie Edison (Alison Brie), who got addicted to adderall and dropped out of high school, Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown) who is recently divorced, and Pierce Hawthorne (the great Chevy Chase) an old business tycoon.

Before this I have previously seen Mad Men which stars Alison Brie, Mystery Team which was written and stars Donald Glover, and almost every Chevy Chase movie made. I have seen a few episodes of The Soup which is(/was) hosted by Joel McHale but I wasn’t impressed by it. So it’s easy to say that the only reason I had any interest in the show was because of Chevy but that grew after hearing how much others loved the show.

Abed and Troy are my favorite characters Abed has trouble connecting to situations and people without putting it in terms of a movie or tv series, and Troy is a slightly cocky and slow jock but is smarter then most people give him credit for. They are best friends and have a J.D. and Turk vibe. They also usually have a small part over the end credits here are a couple of my favorites 1, 2,  and 3.

I highly recommend this show. It’s full of pop culture references and there are some themed episodes which are great! Season 1 has a wonderful Christmas episode and an amazing paint ball episode. Not to mention a great supporting cast which includes Ken Jeong (from The Hangover), John Oliver (from The Daily Show) and Jim Rash who I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen him anything but is great as the dean. Season 2 is coming out on DVD in Sept so it’ll be easy to catch up if you haven’t seen any episodes.  Be sure to watch the show so you don’t end up streets behind.
